The Elgin Humane Society offers pet adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots in Southern Texas and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. Elgin Humane has many wonderful adult dogs, cats and large dogs available for adoption both through its shelter and at special adoption events. As part of its commitment to humane education, the Elgin Humane Society offers various art and education projects for children of all ages.
Every adopted dog or cat will receive:
- Spay/neuter
- Current vaccinations, including for rabies
- Microchip for permanent identification (dogs only)
- Starter bag of dog or cat food
- Slip leash
- Member Patriot exclusive: significant adoption fee discounts: $100 for small breed adult dogs (vs $150), $50 for large breed adult dogs (vs $95), $50 for cats (vs $85) and until further notice, $35 adult black dogs of any size (vs $50)
- Member Patriot exclusive: dog training or retraining assistance either at a nearby park or at Elgin's facility (Contact Donald Wortham at Elgin)
The Elgin Humane Society welcomes donations of dog and cat food, basic office and cleaning supplies and pet bedding; please
contact Elgin to inquire about their needs and product donation requirements. For a more hands-on experience,
become one of their valued volunteers.
