Pet fostering helps military families
A cottage industry has cropped up to provide foster care to pets in need of temporary homes. Most of these organizations are small and many are not-for-profits, like us. They provide both short- and long-term foster care for pets of people in transition, including military personnel reporting for out-of-state training or deployment overseas, people who are moving and animals displaced as the result of natural disaster or other catastrophe. The economy has increased the need for fostering as more people lose their homes or move to find work, and as many of our military members are called for multiple tours of duty.
