About Albany Humane Society

Albany Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to Albany and Dougherty County veterans in partnership with Pets for Patriots.

The shelter has various programs to improve the lives of pets and people. Albany Humane Society provides low-cost microchip for permanent pet identification, works with other groups for affordable spay/neuter, and educates the public about animal welfare. A Doggy Dates program allows people to take shelter dogs into the community to increase their adoption potential.

Albany Humane Society welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind of Kuranda beds for dogs. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or fosters.

Adoption Fees Include:

Age-appropriate vaccinations
Behavior assessment
Fecal test
Heartworm test
Microchip for permanent identification
