About Animal Rescue League & Wildlife Center

Animal Rescue League and Wildlife Center offers dog and cat adoptions and will assist Pets for Patriots members in finding their new pet friends. Member patriots who adopt an eligible pet from the League will receive an ongoing 10% discount at the Animal Rescue League and Wildlife Center veterinary clinic.

Founded in 1909 by five Pittsburgh animal lovers, the organization is an open admission shelter and wildlife rehabilitation center that does not refuse animals, regardless of species or breed. While not a “no kill” shelter, the League never euthanize animals for space or on a time limit, only for behavior and/or medical reasons.

As part of its storied history, the Animal Rescue League and Wildlife Center secured contracts with the city of Pittsburgh to provide shelter to all stray dogs and cats picked up by the city’s Animal Control trucks, and operates an on-site veterinary clinic that is open to the public. The organization maintains a four-star Charity Navigator rating.

The League welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions from its wish list. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers.

Adoption Fees Include:
