About German Shepherd Rescue

German Shepherd Rescue partners with Pets for Patriots to help Chicagoland area veterans adopt companion German Shepherd dogs. Operating since 1996, the organization fosters all dogs until adoption, during which time they receive medical care and socialization in a home setting. To increase awareness of these dogs in the community, the group participates in adoption events at area PetSmart stores.

To support the ongoing care of the animals in its charge, German Shepherd Rescue operates a sponsor program for those who would like to help a dog, but who are unable to adopt or foster.

German Shepherd Rescue welcomes monetary donations; for a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.

Microchip for permanent identification
Pet food
