About Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County

Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans in Macon County, Illinois through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. In operation since 1923, the “no kill” rescue saves and finds loving homes for sick, injured, abused, neglected and abandoned animals in Decatur and Macon County.

As part of its commitment to animals in need, Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County offers low-cost spay/neuter certificates and maintains a TNR (trap/neuter/release) program to humanely manage the feral cat population.

Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of pet food, and various medical, cleaning and offices supplies; see their supplies wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers.

Adoption Fees Include:

Age-appropriate vaccinations
DHLPP, rabies and kennel cough prevention (dogs)
FVRCP and rabies vaccinations (cats)
Microchip for permanent identification
Parasite screenings
Spay/neuter
Teeth cleaning (if needed)
