About Terre Haute Humane Society

The Terre Haute Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. Chartered in 1913, the Terre Haute Humane Society upholds it mission to prevent animal suffering and teaches kindness to all living things through its community humane education program.

In addition to pet adoptions, the Terre Haute Humane Society handles stray animals, owner-relinquished pets, bite quarantines and animals from both city and county animal control offices. Since 2000, the organization has dramatically increased the percentage of animals saved through adoption to a record 92% of all incoming animals in 2009.

The Terre Haute Humane Society welcomes monetary donations and participation at its many community events. For a more hands-on experience, contact them to learn about volunteering opportunities.
