Ted Whitcomb

Ted Whitcomb

DIRECTOR OF VETERAN OUTREACH

Ted is a Vietnam Marine Corps combat veteran. In 2011 he adopted a then three year-old Great Pyrenees mix named Bentley through our program, and soon after joined Pets for Patriots as a volunteer. Ted’s initial responsibilities included shelter and veterinary partner outreach, after which he transitioned to work directly with veteran applicants and adopters.

In October 2013 after more than two years of dedication as a volunteer, Ted joined Pets for Patriots as our Director of Veteran Outreach. Ted is responsible for reviewing all veteran applications, pre-adoption counseling and post-adoption follow up. He works closely with other members of our team to assist veterans who may need a ‘helping paw’ with food or extraordinary veterinary care, and generally ensures that our veterans feel welcome and appreciated by our organization.

As a lifelong pet parent, Ted often shares his experiences with our veteran adopters when they need help with their new pet friends. When not at work, Ted has many other pursuits that keep him busy, including model railroad building, and enjoying visits to the park and playground with his grandson.
