Our financial performance and efficiency

Pets for Patriots is committed to financial transparency and making available publicly required financial disclosures. The metrics below are used by Charity Navigator, which has awarded Pets for Patriots a Four-Star rating, the highest recognition. This signifies that we exceed or meet best practices and industry standards across all areas reviewed by the organization.

We are proud to have earned the Platinum GuideStar Nonprofit Profile Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, the highest level of recognition offered by the world’s largest source of nonprofit information.

Program expenses:

81% of our total expenses in 2023 went towards programs and services in support of our mission.

Administrative expenses:

Only 12% of total expenses go towards administrative costs.

Fundraising efficiency:

It only costs us $.06 in fundraising expenses for each $1 raised.

Strategic investments:

Investing 15% of our total expenses towards technology upgrades is contributing to a 26% increase in adoptions.

Our liabilities represent just 4.2% of our total assets.

What is the difference between Form 990 EZ and Form 990?
The Internal Revenue Service determines which form an exempt organization must file based upon financial activity (gross receipts and total assets). Pets for Patriots files the appropriate and required document based upon these IRS criteria.
