About Cleveland Animal Care and Control

Cleveland Animal Care and Control offers dog adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots and will help them find their new best friends.

The shelter’s CITY DOGS program aims to change the image and increase adoptions of Pit Bull-type dogs from the city kennel. All dogs receive medical and behavior assessments before being made available for adoption.

In addition, Cleveland Animal Care and Control’s nonprofit partner, Friends of the Cleveland Kennel, runs the Neighborhood Pets outreach program. It offers affordable basic health care, spay/neuter, humane education, and resources to pet guardians.

Cleveland Animal Care and Control welcomes volunteers to walk dogs, help with adoption events, and more. Contact the shelter directly for new volunteer training opportunities and schedules.
