About Dorchester Paws

Dorchester Paws offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots and will help them find their new best friends.

The open-admission shelter was founded in 1972 and promotes the compassionate treatment of all animals. Services include adoption, humane education, and a pet food pantry for those in need. In addition, Dorchester Paws works with local code enforcement to care for stray, abused, and abandoned animals in their community.

Dorchester Paws welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of various pet-related and office supplies. See their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.

Adoption Fees Include:

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Basic veterinary exam
  • Flea/tick preventative
  • Heartworm preventative
  • Heartworm test
  • Microchip for permanent identification
  • Spay/neuter
