About Greater Huntsville Humane Society

Greater Huntsville Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. For more than 40 years the shelter has helped people and pets through various innovative initiatives.

The King’s Kitchen program provides low-income pet owners with food for their dogs and cats in times of financial difficulty. Greater Huntsville Humane Society’s Paws for Reading program helps pets feel more comfortable with people and reduces anxiety, increasing their adoption potential. A collaboration with Rocket City Mobile Vet offers Pet Wellness Clinics on the second Saturday of each month.

Greater Huntsville Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of dry pet food, office and cleaning supplies. See their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.

Adoption Fees Include:

Current vaccinations and boosters
HomeAgain microchip for permanent identification and one-year subscription
