About Humane Society of Huron Valley

Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) partners with Pets for Patriots to help Washtenaw County veterans adopt companion dogs and cats.

Founded in 1896, the shelter is dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership. HSHV maintains a comprehensive humane education program and programs for children and teens. To help prevent owner surrender for individuals experiencing financial hardship, the shelter operates a Bountiful Bowls pet food assistance program for residents in Washtenaw County, Canton and Plymouth.

In addition to discounted adoption fees, Pets for Patriots members receive an ongoing 10% discount fro the Humane Society of Huron Valley Veterinary Clinic.

Humane Society of Huron Valley welcomes monetary and in-kind donations; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience become one of their valued volunteers or fosters.
