Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) partners with Pets for Patriots to help Washtenaw County veterans adopt companion dogs and cats.
Founded in 1896, the shelter is dedicated to helping further the mutually beneficial bond between people and animals. In addition to pet adoption, HSHV offers humane education for all ages, dog training classes, and affordable expert veterinary care through its nonprofit clinic. To help prevent owner surrender for individuals experiencing financial hardship, the shelter operates a Bountiful Bowls pet food pantry and award-winning emergency Harbor program for area residents.
In addition to discounted adoption fees, Pets for Patriots members receive an ongoing 10% discount for the Humane Society of Huron Valley Veterinary Clinic.
Humane Society of Huron Valley welcomes monetary and in-kind donations; see hshv.org/wishlist for more information. And for a more hands-on experience, you can become one of their valued volunteers or foster parents!
