About Humane Society of Richland County

Humane Society of Richland County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. The shelter provides care and advocacy for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in its community.

To help keep people and their pets together, Humane Society of Richland County maintains a pet food bank and offers low-cost spay/neuter. Both are available to income-qualified individuals. The shelter offers humane education programs for schools, businesses, civic groups and others.

Humane Society of Richland County welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of various supplies. See their ‘current shelter needs’ list for details. For a more hands on experience, become a volunteer or pet foster.
