About Humane Society of Tampa Bay

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay offers pet adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots in Hillsborough County and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. Established in 1910 to enforce animal cruelty laws, in 2004 the Humane Society of Tampa Bay became a no-kill for space shelter committed to finding permanent homes for every adoptable animal in its charge. In recognition of its operational excellence, the organization has achieved a four-star Charity Navigator rating.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has many programs in addition to pet adoption. As part of its commitment to reduce pet overpopulation and promote responsible pet ownership, the organization offers spay/neuter and wellness clinics, both of which are open to the public. Its Pet-a-Pet program brings the joys of companion animals into area nursing homes and long-term care facilities, and week long Critter Camp programs are available to teach young children how to care for pets responsibly.

Member patriots are eligible for an ongoing 10% discount at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s Animal Health Center.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay welcomes monetary and in-kind donations, as well as a variety of pet food, basics and cleaning products; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or foster a pet for a deployed military service member.
