About Humane Society of Wayne County

Humane Society of Wayne County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. The organization provides a humane facility to shelter, feed and care for lost, unwanted and abused animals in Wayne County, and adopt them to permanent homes.

As part of its mission to help animals in need, Humane Society of Wayne County receives animals from the public as well as local animal control officers. In addition, the shelter emphasizes the importance of spay/neuter to control pet overpopulation humanely and, in cooperation with area veterinarians, offers a low-cost spay/neuter program to assist income-qualifying families.

Humane Society of Wayne County welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions of various household, pet supply, surgical and other items; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers.
