About Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County

The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots. Since its founding in 1888 the shelter has grown into one the largest animal welfare agencies in Washington state.

To promote responsible pet guardianship The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County subsidizes spay/neuter surgeries at local veterinary clinics for income-qualified families. The shelter offers low-cost microchip implantation and runs an emergency pet food bank as well.

The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions from its wish list. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
