About Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County

The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots. Founded in 1888, the shelter has grown into one of the state’s largest animal welfare agencies.

As part of its commitment to responsible pet guardianship, The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County subsidizes spay/neuter surgeries at local veterinary clinics for income-qualified families. In addition, it offers low-cost microchip implantation and runs an emergency pet food bank.

The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions from its wish list. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
