About Paris Animal Welfare Society

The Paris Animal Welfare Society offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans in Paris, Kentucky and Bourbon County through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. Established in 1992, the organization is committed to finding permanent homes for every adoptable animal in its charge, and does not turn away animals regardless of age, health or behavior issues.

To increase the adoption potential of the animals in its care Paris Animal Welfare Society runs a satellite adoption center at the Petsmart in Lexington. In addition, the shelter offers a publicly available low cost spay/neuter clinic as part of its commitment to reduce pet overpopulation and promote responsible pet guardianship.

Paris Animal Welfare Society welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of various pet food, basics and cleaning products; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.

Adoption Fees Include:

  • Spay/neuter
  • Deworming
  • Flea/tick preventative
  • Microchip for permanent identification
  • Vaccinations, including rabies if older than 12 weeks
