About PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Society)

PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Society) offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots members and will help them find their new best friend. Founded in 1962, the organization believes that every cat and dog deserves a permanent home regardless of age, handicaps or other issues, including neglect and abuse. In keeping with its adherence to no-kill philosophy, PAWS provides shelter, medical care and affection for homeless animals until they are adopted.

As part of its commitment to save, rehabilitate and rehome as many animals as possible, PAWS often works with other area rescue groups to place adoptable pets. In addition, the organization educates the public about responsible pet ownership, and provides links to low-cost spay/neuter resources to reduce the population of unwanted animals.

PAWS accepts monetary donations, as well as pet food, Kuranda dog beds, various office and shelter supplies, and other items needed for the care of the animals in their charge. See their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers.

Adoption Fees Include:

Age-appropriate vaccinations
Feline Aids/Leukemia testing (cats)
Heartworm testing (dogs)
Spay/neuter
