Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland

About Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland

Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland adopts mature dogs to Severn area veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots.

The organization provides a permanent safe haven for senior dogs whose guardians cannot care for them, or who are abandoned, abused, or face risk of death. Older dogs who can be rehabilitated are offered for adoption, foster, or training as therapy dogs.

Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland runs a program that helps people who need to move to an assisted living facility to maintain relationships with their pets. The organization’s Book Buddies program invites local children to read aloud to the older dogs in their care.

Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions from its wish list. To help the dogs in their care, considering volunteering or becoming a foster to a dog awaiting adoption.
