About The Animal Welfare Association

The Animal Welfare Association offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots members and will help them find their new best friend. For more than 65 years, the organization has worked tirelessly to find homes for as many pets as possible, and serves more than 13,000 pets and 11,000 people every year.

Despite its relatively small size, The Animal Welfare Association has a big impact on the communities and surrounding areas it serves. The shelter has initiated a range of innovative programs to help animals in need, including pet retention and rehoming support, several unique low-cost spay/neuter programs and pet therapy visits to local nursing homes. The organization’s low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics are open to the public; appointments are required.

The Animal Welfare Association welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions of  pet food,  and shelter, medical, cleaning and office supplies; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
