Background:

Joseph, an Army veteran, lives in the Baltimore area. In December of 2016, he adopted a then 8 1/2 year-old Terrier/Italian Greyhound named Milan from the Baltimore Humane Society.

A little about me
I'm still living in Maryland with my wife Kelly and two kids madalynn 14 and Maximus 8. I work for the veterans affairs Hospital in Baltimore Maryland.
My military experiences
I was stationed in ft Bragg, North Carolina. My mos was 11B Infantry. I was also airborne. I did two combat deployments. One in Iraq and the other in Afghanistan. I will was in the military for three years
My most memorable experience from my time in service
What stands out the most is the friendships I made along the way. The relationships we're g built on trust and we're real.
Why I chose to adopt a pet
We had lost our previous family dog due to old age. We had to put her down for health reasons. We missed having a family pet.
Why I chose to adopt through Pets for Patriots
I wasn't aware of your program until I went to the shelter and saw a sign posted up. I read up on it and realized this was for me.
How my honorably adopted pet has changed my life
We have had Milan for over a year now. She's so gentle and sweet. She's a great friend to have. So loyal.
What I love most about my new pet friend
She's a old timer who likes to sleep. I like to take naps so that helps. She's just great. Such an amazing dog.
What I would tell other veterans or service members who might be thinking about adopting through Pets for Patriots
I would recommend it. It saved me money. The program allowed me to choose the dog I wanted.
