Background:

One aspect of our mission is to educate potential adopters, as well as the pubic, about responsible pet ownership. This includes animal cruelty.

This will be one or more educational pieces to cover various topics related to animal cruelty, including:

• What is animal cruelty
• How to spot/recognize/identify possible acts of cruelty, abuse and/or neglect
• What to do if you suspect animal cruelty/abuse/neglect
• Scope of problem in U.S. (if stats are available; check Aspca.org and other national animal welfare organizations)
• Any information on trends in laws, punishment, etc.
• Animal cruelty and relation to violence against other people (search for studies on this topic as they are numerous)
