A little about me
I am currently active duty station in Ft Meade, MD working in the intel department. I have a husband, a 20 month old, and currently pregnant with my second child.
My military experiences
I served at IWTC Corry Station and CWA-65 in maryland. I joined the Navy to help me travel and to help me build a future for myself and my husband. My son shortly welcomed us later.
My most memorable experience from my time in service
My most memorable moment was advancing to 3rd class because I was so scared of not advancing and I accomplished it on my first try.
Why I chose to adopt a pet
I decided to adopt a pet because my son has a extreme love for animals and I don’t want him to ever be scared of them. I also grew up with animals my entire life and I felt adopting a dog would complete my family.
Why I chose to adopt through Pets for Patriots
I went through pets for patriots because i wanted to share my story with fellow service members.
How my adopted pet has changed my life
Adopting my dog has made me more active and kept me on more of a structured routine. It is also just like having another kid.
What I love most about my new pet friend
My dog loves me unconditionally. I love how he plays with my son so gently and is extremely protective over him. Moose is also such a goofball
What I would tell other veterans who might be thinking about adopting through Pets for Patriots
I have recommended this program to my entire division already. The representatives are extremely thorough and always kept in touch until I adopted my dog.
