Pets for Patriots Welcome Home Ride
November 15, 2026 | Venice, Florida
Background:
| Pet's Name | |
| Kitty kat | |
| A little about me | |
| Medically retired from the US Army, moved to Florida after separation. Currently working for Pinellas County Utilities. | |
| My military experiences | |
| Served during OIF, OIR. Spent time in Taji and Al Taqaddum, Iraq. Served as a 92G in the US Army. | |
| My most memorable experience from my time in service | |
| Serving hot breakfast to the Marines who spent all night on the lines. They were thankful to just have a hot meal. | |
| Why I chose to adopt a pet | |
| We were looking for a pet to complete our family. Our kids have all grown and moved out. Time to fill that empty room with none other then a cat. She has definitely adopted that space as her own. | |
| Why I chose to adopt through Pets for Patriots | |
| Google! We heard a story about pets for Patriots and decided to see if we even qualify for the program. Took us awhile to make the decision of what pet to look for. | |
| How my honorably adopted pet has changed my life | |
| The cat has allowed us to step back and relax. We use to spend hours just watching Netflix. Now we have to take turns entertaining the cat. | |
| What I love most about my new pet friend | |
| She is super friendly. 5 minutes after bringing her home she started to rub herself on everything she could. Made herself right at home. | |
| What I would tell other veterans or service members who might be thinking about adopting through Pets for Patriots | |
| We selected a 6 year old cat. Most people tend to over look the older animals. Yes an older animal could have health issues, or concerns, but just like humans they become themselves. A young animal doesn't know its personality, or behavior yet. You may get a wild child. | |
