Donate your vehicle to Pets for Patriots

Now you can donate your vehicle to Pets for Patriots and turn it into resources to fund our lifesaving work. We are excited to offer our supporters another way to help veterans adopt a new best friend and shelter animals find loving homes.

Get cash for your clunker – and a tax deductible donation

To accept vehicle donations we have partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Ride Services), a leading nonprofit that makes vehicle donations easy. Turning your unwanted vehicle into cash – and a tax deduction – has never been simpler.

Donate your car, truck, motorcycle, RV, boat, trailer, and more. We accept vehicle in any condition – running or not. And when you donate your vehicle to Pets for Patriots pickup is free anywhere in the United States.

How to donate your vehicle to Pets for Patriots

Completing your donation is easy! Here is how it works:

Call 877-904-PETS (877-904-7387) seven days a week or submit the secure online form here.

Schedule your free pick-up: Within 48 hours, one of our Vehicle Donor Support Representatives will contact you to complete the donation. In most cases, we can schedule the vehicle pick-up with a preferred licensed vendor on the initial call once the donation record has been completed.

Receive a donation receipt: In most cases, you will receive an initial donation receipt from the tow driver at the time of your vehicle pick-up. This initial acknowledgement will indicate your name and the year, make, model and condition of the vehicle you are donating. Within 30 days of the sale, a thank-you letter on behalf of Pets for Patriots will be mailed to you. This serves as a tax receipt.

Donate your vehicle to Pets for Patriots

Donating your vehicle to Pets for Patriots is tax-deductible. And we work to get the highest return per vehicle for you.

According to the IRS Guidelines, you may claim fair market value for your donation up to the actual sale value. If your vehicle is sold for more than $500, the maximum amount of your deduction will be the sales price of the vehicle. Individual tax situations vary.

For specific tax-related questions, please consult your tax advisor or refer to IRS Publication 4303 to learn more about vehicle donations as tax-deductible gifts.

If you have questions about the process, email [email protected]. Our Vehicle Donor Support Team is available seven days a week and will be happy to assist you. During the call, please have the title in hand to make the process even faster.

To get started, fill out an online donation form, or call toll-free 877-904-PETS (877-904-7387) seven days a week.

Okay...moment over! 🤣 This hunky hound just hit the adoption jackpot when Annette and her husband - both Air Force veterans - added this 3+ year-old fella to their family. We thank these high-flying patriots for their service and for opening their hearts and home to this magnificent beast!

Megan serves in the Navy and just threw a lifeline Megan serves in the Navy and just threw a lifeline (and a cone!) to Little Man, a stunning adult cat she met through our partners @vbspca. Megan received a 25% adoption fee discount and has access to their low-cost veterinary clinic without proof of income - just a couple of the benefits of adopting through our partnership.

All we know is that this is one very lucky black cat! Smooth sailing, Megan and Little Man!

Joan knew she needed to dust herself off and save another 4-legged soul, so earlier this week she rescued 5 year-old Smokey, a stunning Cane Corso she met through our partners Baltimore County Animal Services, which gives veterans we serve 50% off adoption fees.

We're so honored that many veterans, like Joan, are repeat adopters through our program - embracing our mission to save the most vulnerable shelter animals while benefiting from their loyalty and love. ❤️

Cornelia was born and raised in France and her hus Cornelia was born and raised in France and her husband Ed in Belgium. Yet both served their adopted nation - Ed in the Navy and Cornelia in the Army. The pair met in New Jersey and married on Veterans Day more than 20 years ago.

These days the couple lives in an assisted living facility and, sadly, Ed's health is such that he's not always able to interact with Cornelia. She grew lonely and wanted nothing more than a little dog to love.

After months of searching, mission accomplished! Thanks to our partners @ywacpets for going the extra mile to help Cornelia find the perfect match:

"She's exactly what I needed and wanted.  She's 9 pounds of love.  She kisses me on the mouth and then turns on her back placing her neck over my mouth so I can kiss her and tell her I love her.  She sleeps with me and is being spoiled rotten by all the employees at the facility, directors on down." ~ Cornelia, US Army veteran ❤️
