About Friends For Animals of Metro Detroit

Friends For Animals of Metro Detroit (formerly Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter) offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans in Dearborn through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. The organization is dedicated to saving all adoptable animals and extends its resources to save most of the treatable animals in its care.

Since 1966, Friends For Animals of Metro Detroit has operated and managed the shelter for the city of Dearborn. As part of its commitment to humane education and responsible pet ownership, the shelter offers group and individual pet training classes, as well as free classes for dog and cat parents.

Friends For Animals of Metro Detroit welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of Science diet kitten food, Martingale collars, six-foot leashes and many other items; see their individual and corporate wish lists for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
