Humane Society of Charlotte partners with Pets for Patriots to help veterans adopt companion dogs and cats. Founded in 1978, the shelter is one of the largest and most comprehensive animal welfare organizations in the region.
The mission of Humane Society of Charlotte is to deliver effective, innovative services that strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the welfare of animals. The shelter achieves this mission through various programs and initiatives, including a low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic, community outreach, humane education, and a behavior helpline. The shelter’s website provides helpful pet services and resources as well.
Humane Society of Charlotte welcomes monetary and in-kind donations; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience become one of their valued volunteers or fosters.
