About Kankakee County Humane Foundation

Kankakee County Humane Foundation partners with Pets for Patriots to help Kankakee County veterans adopt companion dogs and cats. The shelter was established in 1963 and since that time has dedicated itself to finding a home for every adoptable animal in its charge.

In addition to pet adoption, Kankakee County Humane Foundation offers spay/neuter voucher assistance to help reduce pet overpopulation and promote responsible pet guardianship.The organization provides food and veterinary care assistance to those experiencing financial hardship, and maintains a humane education program for area school children.
