About Peoria County Animal Protection Services

Peoria County Animal Protection Services offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends.

The shelter is committed to finding permanent homes for every adoptable animal in its care, and remains the only animal shelter in Peoria County.

Peoria Humane Society, in conjunction with Peoria County Animal Protection Services, provides humane education, a resource library, community awareness programs, volunteer opportunities, and assistance for pet owners. The Peoria County Veterinary Medical Association offers low-cost spay/neuter services to income-eligible residents of Peoria County, in addition to spay/neuter for the sheltered animals.
